The short verdict
Otterly.AI is a subscription monitoring platform: it re-runs your prompts on a schedule, builds history, and adds a GEO audit — with agency workspaces, an API and Copilot coverage that Sailiently doesn’t have. Sailiently is a pay-per-run workflow: it measures your visibility across six engines with multiple passes, names the exact competitor page that beat you, and takes you straight into a gap analysis and a grounded rewrite — then re-runs to prove the movement. Choose Otterly to watch. Choose Sailiently to fix.

Where each tool is genuinely stronger
Neither of these is the better product in the abstract. They are built for different jobs, and the honest way to choose is to know what each gives up.
Where Otterly.AI is stronger
- Continuous, scheduled monitoring. Otterly re-runs your prompts on a schedule and builds the time-series history. Sailiently runs when you tell it to — there is no always-on monitoring or alerting.
- Agency infrastructure. Their Agency Partner programme adds client workspaces, pitch workspaces, branded Looker Studio reporting and consolidated billing. Sailiently has no white-label or workspace layer yet.
- Integrations and automation. Otterly publishes an API and an MCP server on its paid tiers. Sailiently has neither today.
- Microsoft Copilot coverage. Otterly tracks Copilot; Sailiently does not.
- Track record. They are an established product with public case studies and a large user base. We are new, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise.
Where Sailiently is stronger
- It tells you what to fix, and fixes it. A lost prompt leads to the exact competitor URL that won it — then straight into Gap Analysis against that page, a URL Audit of yours, and a grounded rewrite. One wallet, one workflow.
- Pay per run, not per month. No subscription. A full six-engine, 30-prompt run is a one-time 35 credits ($35). If you run nothing next month, you pay nothing next month.
- Multi-pass stability. Every prompt is asked several times, so a lucky one-off mention never gets counted as real visibility. You see a stability rate and which wins are fragile.
- Every engine in the run price. Sailiently tracks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode, all included. Otterly includes four engines on its plans and sells Claude, Gemini and Google AI Mode as paid monthly add-ons on top.
- Exact brand and alias matching, never fuzzy. Fuzzy matching invents equivalences — it will credit you for an answer about a company with a similar name. We match your brand, legal name and the aliases you give us, exactly.
- Mentioned and cited are measured separately. Being named in the answer is not the same as having your domain in the source list, and we never blend the two into one number without showing the parts.
- Comparisons are suppressed when they would mislead. If the engine set or question set changed between two runs, we say the comparison does not hold rather than showing a change figure that means nothing.
- Errors are refunded, never zero-counted. If an engine fails to answer, we disclose it, exclude it from the score, and return the credits.
Choose the one that fits the job
Choose Otterly.AI if…
- You want your prompts re-run automatically on a schedule, with history building in the background.
- You need Microsoft Copilot tracked.
- You run an agency and need client workspaces, branded reporting and one invoice today.
- You want to pull visibility data into your own stack through an API or MCP.
- A predictable monthly subscription suits how you buy.
Choose Sailiently if…
- Knowing you’re invisible isn’t enough — you want the page that beat you, the gap against it, and a rewrite that closes it.
- Your work comes in bursts, per project or per client, and a monthly subscription for an idle month is money wasted.
- You want all six engines — Claude and Gemini included — in the run price, rather than paying per engine on top of a plan.
- You need to know whether a mention is durable or a fluke — multi-pass, with fragile wins flagged.
- You want to hand a client a report where every number is a measurement and failures are disclosed, not hidden.
The difference in one lost prompt
Say a buyer asks an AI assistant a question in your category, and your brand doesn’t come up. A monitoring tool tells you that, and tracks it over time — genuinely useful, and the necessary first step.
Sailiently keeps going from there. The run records the answer the engine actually gave, the competitors it named, and the exact URLs it cited instead of you — each classified as a competitor page, a neutral publisher, or social. That competitor URL is a ready-made Gap Analysis target: instead of guessing which rival page to benchmark against, you compare against the page that is actually taking the answer. Your own weak page goes through a URL Audit and a Page Rewrite grounded strictly in your own content — 12 credits for both together. Then you re-run the same prompt set, and the report names the prompts you newly won and newly lost. That is the loop: measure, diagnose, fix, prove.
See the whole thing on the AI Visibility Tracker page, or read our wider comparison of the category.
Don’t take our word for it — run the test
The honest way to compare two visibility tools is to give them the same job. Take five prompts your buyers actually ask and run them in both. Then check three things that separate a monitor from a workflow:
- Stability — ask each prompt more than once. Is your visibility durable, or did you get lucky on one pass?
- The page that beat you — for a prompt you lost, can the tool name the exact URL the engine cited instead?
- The next action — can you go straight from that URL to a gap analysis and a rewrite, without leaving the tool?
Sailiently gives you 15 free credits, no card, to try exactly that.
One more thing the tracker does not do — and we say so
Alongside the tracker there is an optional LLM Mentions add-on. It is a different data source, not an extra engine: it draws on indexed third-party mention data to show which domains your whole category’s answers keep drawing from, including ones you never asked about. That makes it useful for deciding where outreach will actually land.
Its coverage is Google AI Overviews and ChatGPT only — not the six engines the tracker queries. We state that plainly rather than letting the bigger number do the talking, because the moment a buyer discovers a coverage claim was loose, every other number on the page becomes suspect.
Frequently asked questions
Is Sailiently cheaper than Otterly.AI?
It depends entirely on how much you run, and the two price in different shapes, so a straight comparison is misleading. Otterly is a monthly subscription starting at $29 for 15 tracked prompts. Sailiently has no subscription: you buy credits ($1 = 1 credit) and spend them per run, so a 30-prompt, six-engine visibility run is a one-time 35 credits. If you monitor continuously all year, a subscription may well work out better. If your work comes in project bursts, paying only for the runs you do usually does.
Which AI engines does each tool track?
Otterly's plans include four engines — ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot — and sell Claude, Google Gemini and Google AI Mode as paid monthly add-ons on top. Sailiently includes six in the run price: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode, with no per-engine add-ons. Sailiently does not track Microsoft Copilot; if Copilot matters to you, Otterly covers it and we don't.
Does Otterly.AI only monitor?
No — and we won't claim otherwise. Otterly includes a GEO Audit feature alongside its monitoring. The difference is what happens after the audit: Sailiently connects a lost prompt to the exact competitor page that won it, then to a gap analysis against that page and a grounded rewrite of yours, in one workflow.
Can I use both?
Yes, and for some teams that's the sensible answer. Use a subscription monitor for continuous, always-on tracking, and use Sailiently when you need to diagnose why you're losing an answer and fix the page — then re-run to prove the fix worked.
