Start with the scope, not the tool
The mistake is buying a platform and then working out what to sell. Do it the other way round. A sellable AI-visibility engagement has four deliverables and a re-check, and it maps cleanly onto work you already do.
1. Access verdict
Can AI engines reach and read the site at all? Free, and it makes a good opener in a pitch.
2. Per-engine audit
How citable the key pages are, with the evidence and a ranked fix list.
3. Gap comparison
The client’s page against the pages actually winning their answers.
4. Grounded rewrite
A publish-ready draft built from the client’s own content. No invented claims.
The fifth step is the one that renews the engagement: re-run the same measurement in thirty days and show what moved.
What to charge
Price the engagement, not the tool. Your cost per client site pass is roughly 84 credits — about $85 at bundle rates — and the deliverables above are a recognisable piece of consulting work. Agencies typically price this as a fixed-scope audit with an optional monthly re-check.
| Job | Cost | What you get back |
|---|---|---|
| Site Check | Free | Crawler-by-crawler access matrix — can AI engines reach you at all. |
| AI Visibility run | 15–45 credits | Your buyers' questions across six engines, multi-pass. 10 prompts × 6 engines is 15; 30 prompts is 35, or 45 with the LLM Mentions add-on. |
| URL Audit | 5 credits | Per-engine readability score for one page, with the evidence behind every factor and a ranked fix list. |
| Gap Analysis | 5 credits | Benchmarks your page against named competitor pages, gap by gap. |
| Page Rewrite | 10 credits | A publish-ready draft grounded strictly in your own content. Never auto-published. |
| Audit + Rewrite together | 12 credits | The pair, priced below buying them separately. |
| Citation Radar | 5–20 credits | Citations or Mentions 5 each; Rankings or AI Overviews 10 each; Citations + Rankings 15; All-in-One 20. |
$1 = 1 credit. Volume bundles: 100 credits for $85 · 250 credits for $175 · 500 credits for $350 · 1,000 credits for $700. A seven-page site pass is 7 × 12 = 84 credits ($84 at list), so the 100-credit bundle at $85 covers it with credits to spare. Every account starts with 15 free credits and no card.
We are not going to tell you what to charge your client — that depends on your market and your existing rates. We will tell you what it costs you to deliver, which is the number you actually need.
How to explain it to a client
Avoid the jargon. The plain version works better: ‘When your buyers ask an AI assistant about your category, it names a handful of companies. We check whether you are one of them, find out why not, fix the pages, and check again.’
Set expectations honestly
Do not promise citations, rankings or traffic — nobody can. Promise the diagnosis, the fix and the re-measurement, which are all things you control. Clients respond well to being told what a service cannot do; it makes the rest credible.
- Per-engine scores are directional estimates, not a guarantee of placement.
- We measure what is on your page and what engines return. We do not measure off-domain authority, and we never promise citations, rankings or traffic.
- A rewrite is a draft grounded in your existing content. It invents no facts and it never publishes itself.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a subscription to offer this as a service?
No. Pay-per-use means the tool cost lands inside the project you are already invoicing, so a quiet month costs nothing. If your client volume is high and steady, a platform subscription may work out cheaper — that is worth checking honestly.
What does it cost me per client?
A full site pass is roughly 84 credits, about $85 at bundle rates. A single page audit is 5 credits. A Site Check is free, which makes it a useful pitch opener.
Can I white-label the reports?
Not today. Several platforms do ship white-label reporting and we would rather tell you that now than after you buy.
What should I tell a client who asks for a guarantee?
That no one can guarantee an AI citation, and that anyone offering one is overselling. What you can commit to is the measurement, the diagnosis, the fix and the re-check.
